Why Child Life?

Child life programs are an essential part of a pediatric patient’s treatment plan, making sure that all children receive therapeutic, comfortable, and family centered care while in the hospital. These programs are run by certified Child Life Specialists, who work in tandem with a child’s medical team to ensure each pediatric patient can effectively cope and understand their diagnosis. They also provide comfort and support to patients and their families during medical procedures.

Another focus of child life programs is keeping children on-track developmentally, allowing ample opportunities for continued social, emotional, and physical growth throughout the course of their hospital stay.
